Spirit Wave is able to configure supported ESCs directly through Modern User Interface. This mean that not only Telemetry values can be seen at Wave Display but additionally pilot can access also particular ESC settings and change them without any additional programming device.
Contents
1 Supported ESCs
Supported ESCs are subject of a firmware version. With following updates more ESCs will be suppported.
Presently following ESCs are fully supported:
- YGE LVT/HVT series
- HobbyWing v5 series
- XDFly
- Scorpion Tribunus
2 Wiring
2.1 YGE LVT/HVT
Wiring is identical as for a standard ESC telemetry support with Spirit units. Please visit YGE Telemetery page.
Requirements:
- ESC has to be configured for YGE protocol.
2.2 HobbyWing v5
Wiring is identical as for a standard ESC telemetry support with Spirit units. Please visit HobbyWing v5 Telemetery page.
Requirements:
- Spirit Wave firmware: 1.0.20+
- Spirit firmware: 3.7.3
2.3 XDFly
Wiring require a single cable between SAT1 port and RX pin of the ESC.
Requirements:
- ESC firmware has to be the latest version
3 Setup
For enabling the Integration you have to enter Model - ESC - Type page.
After Saving the settings you can repower the Spirit unit and from then ESC Integration is ready to use.
4 Usage
For accessing ESC parameters you have to enter Model - ESC - ESC Setup page. This page is available only if ESC Integration is really working. This mean ESC Setup might not work because of:
- Wrong Wiring
- Wrong (old) ESC firmware
- Wrong telemetry protocol configured in the ESC.
If you can see no ESC telemetry values then this integration will not work.
4.1 ESC Setup
Parameters can be easily accessed as part of the Wave User Interface without requirement of installing any special tool.
Following screenshots were recorded from HobbyWing v5 configuration interface.
